June 19th Secret Swing Society
http://secretswingsociety.wordpress.com/
Energetic and playful, the Secret Swing Society is a gypsy jazz band based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. The group makes their American debut this summer after several years of European mischief making, from jazz festivals in Belgium and the Baltic countries, to tours in Iceland and France. In the vein of Duke Ellington, Django Reinhardt, and the Mills Brothers, SSS resurrects the sex appeal of four-part vocal harmony, and the joy of foot stomping. The four young people bringing the old-fashioned swing are Andri Ólafsson (IS), double bass, Kristján Martinsson (IS), accordion, Guillaume Heurtebize (FR), guitar, and Jordan Morton (US), violin.
Located at 112 Suffolk St.
between Rivington & Delancey in the Lower East Side.
