2015 UCF Trumpet Fest

The UCF Trumpet Fest will be held on Saturday April 4, 2015 in the Rehearsal Building on the campus of the University of Central Florida in Orlando, FL. Guest artists include Thomas Hooten, Principal Trumpet of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Wiff Rudd, Professor of Trumpet at Baylor University and member of Rhythm and Brass, and Dr. Jack Burt, Professor of Trumpet at the University of Maine. There will be warm-up classes, lecture/demonstration on playing Schagerl rotary trumpets, masterclasses, and a recital of music for trumpet and piano featuring Thomas Hooten and Wiff Rudd. Exhibits will feature Yamaha trumpets and Schagerl rotary and piston trumpets. Admission is $25.00 for adults, $15.00 for students with ID. Ten or more students from the the same school will receive a $5.00 discount off of the student price. Time: 9:00AM to 4:00PM. For further information contact John Almeida at hbbja1@mac.com

Melbourne International Trumpet Festival

Introducing the inaugural Melbourne International Trumpet Festival

Presented by the Australian Trumpet Guild and the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music, the 2015 MITF is a weekend-long event featuring performances, masterclasses, presentations, and a chance to try some fantastic instruments. Melbourne artists will be on showcase this year, including soloists Geoffrey Payne (Principal, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra), Mark Fitzpatrick (Principal, Orchestra Victoria), and Anthony Pope (Associate Principal, Orchestra Victoria). We'll also be joined by the Malaysian Philharmonic's sub-principal, Liam Day. David Musk will bring us back to the baroque, and we'll also hear from Joel Brennan, Suzanne Wedding, Erin Ellenburg, Michael Davis.

Greg Spence will give a presentation on his method "From Mystery to Mastery" and the team from Bob Reeve's Brass will be making their first trip to Australia to join us as well!

A Little Russian Nightmusik

Join the Brass Band of Louisville with guest artist J.D. Shaw from the Boston Brass in a program of beautiful Russian music. Featuring titles such as Rimsky-Korsakov's Capriccio Espagnol and Shostakovich's Festive Overture, this concert has all the pizzaz and exoticism one can expect from Russian music!

Concert will be performed at 3:00pm at Harvey Browne Presbyterian. Admission is free, donations accepted to facilitate operational costs.
