Maui Chamber Orchestra West Side Story IN CONCERT - Hearing West Side Story with full orchestrations is an experience not to be missed! From the first notes to the final breath, West Side Story is one of the most memorable musicals and greatest love stories of all time. The score by Leonard Bernstein with lyrics by Stephen Sondheim is widely regarded as one of the best ever written. The world's greatest love story takes to the concert stage in this landmark Maui presentation! Prior to the concert, on Sunday, May 21st at 1:30 PM join Maestro Wills for "Conversations with the Conductor." Presented by the Maui Chamber Orchestra.
Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet is transported to modern-day New York City as two young, idealistic lovers find themselves caught between warring street gangs, the “American” Jets and the Puerto Rican Sharks. Their struggle to survive in a world of hate, violence and prejudice is one of the most innovative, heart-wrenching and relevant musical dramas of our time.
Will be performing May 20th at 7:30 pm and May 21st at 3:00 pm at the Historic Iao Theater in Wailuku, Maui.
