Thanks,
Steve

Hi Steve,
Have you seen this bag in person? I made a post wondering if it will hold a Bb, pic, and flugel. Do you know? Also, what exaclty is the flexoskeleton? It seems really difficult to find information on these bags.

Hey Mark,

I have not seen it. I am taking a leap that it will exactly what you describe. I know that the regular RB triple will hold those so hopefully the Continental will too. If not, I'll send it back, if I can find one.

Hi Guys,
I actually own one of these, it's a great case. I don't play pic or flugel so I can't really help as to what fits in it. I have put two Bbs and a cornet in there, horizontally it was a little tight with all three in - probably a pic with 2 Bbs would fit better. Vertically, the top is about 4 inches above the highest point on my Bb bell so maybe a flugel would fit. I use mine to carry a Bb, a ton of mutes including a derby, a music stand and book of charts. It has the regular padded dividers between each horn.

The 'flexoskeleton' is pretty interesting. I don't know what exactly is in there, but I believe it is some sort of hard foam. Basically, it feels like a hard case but if you grab it and bend it flexes. If you hit it with your hand it feels like a hard case. It's way more protective than a gig bag but I would not risk flying with it. For an everyday non travel case it's been great. It's pretty compact and you can get a lot of stuff in there. The handle is really comfy too.

FYI, when I bought it the description said it had backpack straps but that's not true, it just has the standard over the shoulder strap.

Thanks bixtone,
From the sound of it the bag is about the same size as the Reunion Blues standard triple, which will hold a trumpet, yamaha flugel, and pic...now to find someone who has these is stock!

Here are some pics of th RB Continental with my Yamaha Flugel, Kanstul 920, and Lawler C7. Just got it yesterday and I like it so far and think it will fulfill its purpose. It is definitely more protective than a typical gig bag, but it is still a gig bag. It is nice for the price!

skuni,
thanks for the pics...it looks like a nice bag...is the padding between horns enough to prevent those little"mystery" dings you often find with other bags. The term "flexoskeleton" leads me to believe that there is some sort of material that is semi-rigid within the padding...is that so?
Where did you eventually find the bag?

Hey Mark,

Yes, the case is semi-rigid and the padding is great. Now I have only had the case a few days so I can't really address the ding stuff. I think it is a great gig bag, more protective than a typical bag, but still a bag. I ordered it through Dillon Music.

Steve,
Thanks again for the info...I think I'll go ahead and order a Continental.
