I've never seen such relaxed unstressed playing.
She's truly a phenomenon.
Have you seen her perform live? |

It stroke me from the very first time I saw her playing! When looking Mireia Farres on some Youtube videos posted by Monette and also Alison Balsom, I have the sensation that maybe, finally, women are the real "natural born trumpeters" _________________ Harrelson Bravura Bb

Smaller mouth structure typically? Helps for them to focus their apeture easier? That's my thoughts.

Her new album, Storyteller, is beautiful. No fancy, technical playing--simply beautiful melodies. I'm not sure women have physical advantages (or disadvantages) over men when playing the trumpet. I simply think Tine worked extraordinarily hard--with excellent teachers. _________________ Lawler Cornet

To me she represents the ideal efficiency of playing!!
This has been mentioned in an earlier thread, but if you want to see some close-ups of her playing/embouchure, watch this:
http://www.nrk.no/nett-tv/klipp/630189/
A note on this -- the first thing that appears on screen is a bandwidth test. After a few minutes the web page appears. IF you pass the bandwidth test (I did at home, but not as school because the internet here is FAR less than good) then the video window should appear.
If the video doesn't appear when the web page appears, the Norwegian error message I got was translated by google was "To see the video at NRK Nett-TV must have a bandwidth of at least 375 kbits |

Interesting to run into this thread just now, as I have been been listening to her new "Storyteller" CD for the last few days.
Not your typical trumpet CD, for sure. And the title fits very well. Gorgeous lyrical playing, and a lot of material you rarely hear, and certainly not on a brass CD.
She makes it look effortless on video, and it sounds effortless too on this album. Give it a listen... |
