Have been playing on an ACB TA-Lead mouthpiece for a number of days now. This is the fourth mouthpiece purchased from Trent. The TA-Lead is great in big band applications as it has a very rich core (as all his mp's do) plus with the added sizzle when going above high C.
I'm now spoiled as no other brand of mouthpiece will do...great work, Trent!

Trent's a great guy. I haven't tried any of his mouthpieces. But I've purchased 2 horns from him over the years.

I got one of Trent's ACB 5 mouthpieces, and love it. It works for me far better than a Bach 7C or 5C ever did. I've pretty much started using the ACB 5 for all of my Concert Band playing. When in the market for a new mouthpiece, Trent Austin is one of the folks to look to.

I have considered getting one of he ACB 5 MP for my oldest boy to try. He will be going into H.S. at the end of this year so I thought about getting a new MP to kick things off. He freq. plays modern and vintage pieces in the Bach 3C size range. So the 5 ACB should be a good fit since it is based on one of Trents favorites Bach MV 3C pieces. I was going to get him a Curry but for $10 more I would rather give the money to Trent and help him solidify a solid cash flow in this market place. Curry is well enough established for his MP's and trim that he is not going to miss my one purchase but it could well help Trent out a lot! I like to keep the money with the smaller guys when the price Delta is this narrow. Sometimes it is too drastic of a difference for me to be able to afford but in this case it is not! They look very well made.

Trent's mouthpieces are great! I play one of his 3C's for all my legit stuff and Jazz solos. It's a fantastic piece, just enough depth to get a big phat dark sound and yet still very agile in the upper register. I reccomend anyone who plays something in the 3C range to give Trent's piece a try it's a keeper! I also have one of his Mt Vernon 3C's which feels a little bigger on the chops. I'm able to get a little darker sound on it and articulation is slightly cleaner for me. That being said I've found that his 3C is "just right" not to big, not to small, just right!

I have one of Trent's 3Cs and it is the most versatile mouthpiece I have ever played. It is extremely comfortable and I can get the same brightness and edge with it as my Curry 3DE and I can also get a great dark sound for concert band playing.

I just ordered a 3DS from Trent to compliment the ACB 5. I wanted something a bit more "in your face" for Big Band and Rock. I'll let you know how that works for me.

Yeah, his pieces are....ok.

Just kidding. He makes some great stuff. I've been playing on one of his 3C*'s in the "Slug" blank for the better part of a year and one of his TA-TF trumpet/flugal peices. Both sound and play great!

Something that makes me laugh when I think about it is that the 3C* was bought to replace a Bach 2C Megatone that I got off of Trent 15 years ago when we were in college! It's pretty cool that I got to replace the piece I bought from him then with another one he would go on to make himself all these years later!
