Love my old AMT system (with built-in Samson (no belt pack) transmitter). _________________ "I'm an engineer, which means I think I know a whole bunch of stuff I really don't."

I have limited experience with wireless systems except for the Shure system I use in my band room at school. I have a lapel wireless that I use every day during class and one that clamps on my bell for gigs. I've been using it every day for several years and it hasn't given me one single problem. _________________ Music is a fire in your belly, fighting to get out. I've played on a lot of different clip on mics but as far as being truly wireless, this really fits my needs. There is no belt-pack involved. I like that aspect very much! I once pulled my trumpet off of a stage because I walked off with the belt-pack still attached to ME! Total rectal-cranial inversion!
Most of all, I think it sounds better than anything else I've used.
AMT puts out a different one that is suitable for trombone and sax but not so much for trumpet. If you go AMT, this is the route that was suggested to me by sound engineers.
I would definitely recommend this to protect your investment. They make a nylon, bag type thing too but I wouldn't use it.

I own a cheap Samson clip on wireless mic with a belt transmitter.
It along with a cheap effects box (I use just a little Plate Reverb) has served me well for a couple of years now.
It is important to note that the belt transmitters (along with other brands we use in our church) eat up batteries as fast as I eat chili dogs after a round of golf! _________________ God Bless,

I use the Eveready rechargeable lithiom batteries. They last a while on each charge. I use one pair and recharge the other so they are ready when I need them. Every once in a great while a battery will fail. Not often, but it's good to have an extra laying around. _________________ Music is a fire in your belly, fighting to get out. I use the Shure PGX14/BET98H wireless system. I have used it in many various musical styles and settings. Although I can't testify to the sound quality from the audience's point of hearing, through the monitors I am generally happy with the sound quality it gives. I was originally upset about paying $500 for it, but because of the kind of work I typically do, I end up using it probably around 150 times a year and I quickly feel like it pays off for itself. Senheiser makes a version that is around $1200 that seems to be very good but I don't think it's worth the cost unless you are touring with some international artist. I have tried some of the cheaper brands and I generally felt like they were unreliable and were "buggy." Once in a while I enjoy playing on a hardwired mic because I have naturally bad posture and I can put the mic stand in a way that keeps my posture consistent. _________________ EARL GARDNER - 4 LIFE!!!!!!
as far as batteries, I use Energizer recharable Lithium batteries and I recharge them after every use. I also keep four regular double A batteries unless I forget my rechargables at home. Some brand of rechargable batteries make a car charger that can get them to full charge in 15 minutes, which works well for people who can't always remember to charge them up. _________________ EARL GARDNER - 4 LIFE!!!!!!

The transmitter on my AMT ROAM uses a single AAA battery that seems to last a very long time. I sam "seems to last" because I've never had a battery die on me. Every couple of gigs I just replace it to be on the safe side. I then use up the batteries on less critical applications like my LED music light. _________________ "I'm an engineer, which means I think I know a whole bunch of stuff I really don't."
