Richard,
Nice video. Too bad about one thing, though...you look to be as old as I am! I thought you sounded better on both horns with your first mouthpiece.

The THODC (Trumpet Herald Old Duffs Club).

I get a bang out of hearing differences in timbre. And hearing those differences at differing dynamics. That's the reason for piddling with the 3, 3B, & 3C.

Shall we be charter members?

I resisted using these emoticons for a long time. Now I'll probably overuse them. This is what I get from the Mrs. most of the time when I start to talk trumpets:

I couldn't quite hear what you were saying early in your vid. What is your new horn?

Muttering about the microphone.

It's when we gush on about horns and someone gets that glazed over look in their eyes and furtively seeks for the nearest exit. I know that look.

A Bach AB190.

Richard: Congrats and thanks for posting. Been playing around with our little laptop and its camera/audio for a bit myself.

Can't wait for the "suspenders vs. belt" air support debate to begin over on Fundamentals!

Yes! I can see it now: "The WxJeff Double-C Heft No-Splat Suspenders."

Get yours now, for only $39.95.

I should have worn some nice ones rather than these ratty things that still work but are all but threadbare.

Yup. It does have something going for it. Even for someone of my limited compass.

Next week, I'll take it to band. Am interested to see how well it projects. In our section, if the music calls for "forte" and I'm playing "mf," and kudos come my way from Mr. Big with the stick, then that's a good indicator that there's something special going on.

I especially like how the 3B sounded. But it has to be pushed to get that something special. The 3 sounded very good too (2 commented they like the 3 best.) And the 3C didn't crater either. The 3 mouthpieces were a 3, 3B, & 3C in that order.

Been playing a 3C in band but I really want to take the 3 there and just call it good.
