Hello, I would like to plan another Cincinnati area trumpet hang sometime in March. Does anyone know of any trumpet related stuff going on in the area that month? I would like to set a date in the next few days.
Thanks, _________________ Nate Banzhof

Not sure if anything is going on. NKU might be having trumpet day again. What ever is going on, I will be there!

OhioITG2012 on March 31st at Miami U in Oxford
NKU is going to do a brass day, not just a trumpet day again ... but it is not yet scheduled _________________ Blaine

I'm wondering if their might be too much going on the last weekend in March. Any opinions on either Sunday afternoon on April 1st, or perhaps the weekend before, the 24th or 25th? _________________ Nate Banzhof

That sounds like the weekend to do it!
Depending on the number of people, I can get us a venue at willis music in Florence,KY. It has a nice large area with a stage and what not where we could set up and play without anyone bothering us in there. Food is also nearby where we could meet up. Play horns. And then sneak out for food at a local restaraunt.

Would anyone be interested in a Cincinnati Hang on Sunday April 1st, the day after the NABBA and ITG Ohio get done? It could make for a fun trumpet weekend. _________________ Nate Banzhof

Hmm, that's my B-day! I am leaving the next day for an anniversary cruise though.
I might be able to stop by for a bit I suppose. |

Hi Nate,
Hopefully, I will be able to come down to Cincy this time. I can probably make April 1, but will not be able to during the last two weeks of March.
I wanted to have a Columbus Trumpet Hang in the spring, but it looks like family matters will take me to Pittsburgh a lot, so I figured I better forget trying to organize a big hang this spring. Sorry I didn't really get to meet you. You took a lesson during the last hour and I was getting a mouthpiece fitting the hour before. I look forward to getting a chance to meet you and others. I will bring maybe six trumpets that I find interesting. I will let you know as the event gets closer. I will try and bring a friend or two. I hope nothing comes up and I can go. It sounds like a great time!
Take care,
Jeff |

Out of curiosity, what is it one does at these trumpet 'hangs'? I see a few of them posted on here from time to time and I'm curious - is it a chance for fellow players to rock up and hang out, admire each others horns (so to speak...), that sort of thing? It sounds like an awesome idea, it's a shame we don't have something going on like that down here in West Aus... _________________ -B&S Challenger 3137/2, B&H 400, Getzen 300, Getzen Eterna, Jupiter JTR-516

so, now I have 2 questions:
1) Sunday, April 1 ... is that the date?
2) Willis in Florence, KY ... is that the place or we back at Nate's house (which was great last year)? _________________ Blaine

Smaller 'hangs' are at a house, and yes, we hang out, talk trumpet, play all the different horns ... etc. + food and drink
Bigger hangs are in bigger venues and sometimes trumpet dealers will participate with booths of product = mouthpieces, axes, etc. Master class(es) and more can be added
It is a ton of fun _________________ Blaine
