Hi
Just thought I would start this off, my favourite long tone exercises are that of Chichowiz! What a brilliant teacher he was!! |

I find the ones in Caruso and in Irons to be the most personally helpful. _________________ Trumpets.

Cichowicz and Johnson are my "gold standards".
Also Clarke studies. (When slurred they are really a form of long tones.)

| Exercise 9 on page 12 of Arban. Taken 'A' as written, 'B' up an octave, & 'C' down into the pedals. Ditto exercise 10 on page 13. More challenging this one since your dwelling on the higher tones more. |

I personally love taking the first few pages of Schlossberg very slow, and as I work through my daily routine, playing them faster and faster so that by the end I'm slurring quite fast through the notes. But I really never do long tones without lip slurs so maybe I'm missing the point. _________________ 2008 Yamaha 8310zs
