WQXR presents six live broadcasts from the Spring for Music festival at Carnegie Hall, an annual showcase for the most creative programming ideas among North American orchestras. The second edition will feature the orchestras of Houston, Edmonton, New Jersey, Alabama, Milwaukee and Nashville.

I don't know all these pieces, but several shows that should be great are the Houston Sym. Shostakovich 11, the Alabama Sym. Beethoven 7 and Milwaukee La Mer. The Ives Universe Symphony with the Nashville Symphony should be very interesting too. |

Shostakovich 11 with the Houston Symphony and Hans Graf will start around 8:20pm ET....5:20pm PT...you can listen to it on your local station or at the WQXR website...Click on "Listen" on the left side:
