I am testing a friend's flugelhorn to decide if I want to buy it. It has not been played for some time and the owner said the valves needed oiling. No problem or so I thought. The valves moved OK but slow so I proceed with oiling them up. All 3 valves were so tight in the casings I was almost not able to get them out. Especially #3. After I got them oiled and re-assembled they work great but are still extremely tight in the casings. Any thoughts on either a major problem or not. None of my regular horns are like this. Thanks in advance for any comments. _________________ Schilke S-32

| Tight tolerance is basically a good thing. What brand is it? Do you happen to know who made the valve block? |
