Hi All,
I'm looking around to find something to get introduced salsa/latin music (rythm, chords, impro). Is there any method or interesting books ?
Thanks

Books are only going to do so much for you. Listen to the music of Arsenio Rodriguez, and Felix Chappotin. Great mambos, solos, and improvised lines. |

There is a good book by Rebeca Mauleon about salsa and latin jazz that is considered by many to be the best all around guide for new comers. I think it's called "the salsa guidebook"
But that's only a guide to the idiom, check out Chocolate Armenteros, Ray Moldonado, Luis "Pericoo" Ortiz, Chapputin, Ray Vega, Eddie Palmieri, Tito Puente, Arsenio Rodriguez, Benny More, etc, etc. |
