Hey folks.
Got to know this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aaR1QUmqDvk&feature=plcp

at www.playwithapro.com
Sweet sound- great technique and amazingly presented by Dave- in my opinion one of todays by far best orchestral trumpet players in the US

Hope you agree

These look great, if a little on the pricey side. The Bilger series would be $80 for the entire set (4.5 hours of content). That's very steep for downloadable media, even allowing for the niche audience.

The proprietary video player is an annoying wrinkle as well. It prevents the use of iPods/iPhones/iPads for watching the videos. If they're going to charge premium prices, they should offer more flexibility with the media.

The Play with a Pro videos plays on any iOS device.

Download the MOD Mobile player on the App Store and you can copy the video files directly on your iPad, iPod or iPhone...

The Bilger videos are worth every $ in my opinion!

Everyone has to determine one's own comfort with the price of a product or service. From my point of view, I find these an excellent value.

For less than the price of one lesson with a player of Mr. Bilger's stature you get 4.5 hours of tips and ideas. Just watching him up close can be extremely helpful.

Inside the software there is an option to copy media to an iOS device (iPad etc) I have not tried it myself, but it is there.

My mistake... Well, actually their mistake. The FAQ says you cannot view the videos on any device but your computer. Guess they should update that.

And yes, of course others may disagree with me on the pricing structure. I just refuse to begin every single sentence with "in my opinion" or "IMO". I think it's implied.

I just ordered my copy of Michael Sachs' The Orchestral Trumpet ($40), which includes 90 orchestral excerpts and commentary/instruction. I feel this is a better deal. Bilger is a marvelous player and I'm sure the videos are brilliant, but comparing video content to the cost of a private lesson is proverbial apples and oranges. I suppose comparing the videos to the Sachs book is likewise pointless, but whaddayagonnado?

I think itīs extremely cheap to be honest. Bilger is an enormous capacity and this system at www.playwithapro.com is not a streaming service like many other providers, you actually own these videos in amazing quality and can add them to your iphone or ipad, which I have done- and bring them wherever you go to practice. Not like forgetting a DVD that needs a big laptop to play from. I can only recommend these videos and thank playwithapro for doing something new and exiting for our normally quite conservative community...
