hello everyone,

i was just wondering some good ways to get a nice shine from a horn with a matte finish.

you can clean it with soap and water, but if it shines, it isn't a matte finish. a Matte finish, by its very definition is dull or dead I.E. without shine.

If you use any sort of polish, with any (even minimal) sort of abrasive qualities, it will simply (eventually) remove the matte finish from your horn.

i know theres no legit shine to it but i just want to know how to bring out that look

Is it raw brass with a light scratch finish or lacquered with a brush finish?

Is it lacquered, plated, or raw brass? Any of those can have a scratch, or brush, finish. If it's lacquered, just wipe it down with a microfiber cloth. If it's silver plated, use a gentle silver polish that leaves behind tarnish protection and avoid rubbing too aggressively. If it's gold plated, use Windex and a microfiber cloth. If it's raw brass and you don't like the dull look of patina, polish it with a mild brass or copper polish and apply non-abrasive car wax.
