In the arban book it is talked about how one should know the differnt sides of a cornet. C, B natrual, Bb, ect. So how come there is only Bb literature with the exception of one A cornet solo at the begining of the solo section? Is the because the book was edited or just is? It bugs me a little. In addition anyone know a good book for C trumpet. And yes I know that arban can be applied to a C trumpet but I mean a book of solos. French C solos would be nice.

The core of the book was written at a different time for players with different demands then is common now. Trumpet playing is still a comparatively young art form and is evolving significantly from one generation to the next. I always look at the Arban book as a test of correct playing. If you are doing something correctly then you should be able to play exercise "A' or "B" or whatever you are working on. Think of it as an application of concepts and less specific to the demands of a single instrument.
