Someone on the list was nice enough to instruct me on how to do the photobucket thing.

Check out my collection when you get a chance.

Thanks...

Quite a collection! I hope you have them all insured.

You have enough instruments to outfit your own brass band.

Thanks for the peek though.

Gary

P.S. If I read like I am jealous. I am.

Wow. I think suddenly my N+1 is in remission, or never hit in the first place.

You have a spare house to store them all in?

37 instruments! You have me beat by about 20. My sickness doesn't look too bad in comparison...

Actually I did not count. Each horn has a front and back (I) & (II) picture so I don't think it is 37.

Yeah, I didn't count them, but Photobucket listed 74 pictures in the album, and with 2 pics per horn, that's 37.

^ I love the look of copper (got me a Connstellation-belled Director as well). And it actually stands out and looks even prettier when theres a pile of silver and brass around it to supply contrast

Of all my horns ("only" 4 cornets, 3 trumpets, and one flugel), my $60 Director cornet is the favorite! Velvet butter for timbre... just how I like it!

Great collection!

The one that caught my eye was the Martin Cornet (shepherd's crook). I didn't even know these existed!

Is that all-copper Getzen a regular model or is that a custom piece of work? I have seen plenty of copper bells but never a complete horn.

Getzen Eterna "Copperna" Cornet G33315. Custom horn. Fairly new cornet, mated to a new gold brass mouthpipe, and "new old stock" gold brass Eterna bell (old style valve stamping), then copper plated and clear lacquered (done by Metzler Brass Repair). Regular style waterkeys (same part Getzen now uses).

Both the bell and the mouthpipe are gold brass. The bell was "new old stock" from 1992.

The entire horn was "copper plated".
Polished and sprayed with clear lacquer by Mark Metzler.

i like the Carol C pocket trumpet. The Schafer is a Chinese Bb and is ok but not really useful for a performance.

The Carol C is usable in performance situations.

I have played a friend's Carol Bb and it is also quite good.

To contact a "real" expert go to vintagecornet.com and communicate with Nick DeCarlis. He has the largest collection of pocket trumpets/cornets in the world. His book on these horns is incredible!
