Hi all,
I just got back from a big European tour and I absolutely fell in love with Berlin. What kinds of opportunities are there for post-bachelors degree work there? Are there any well-known teachers there? What about Germany as a whole?

Check out the Hanns Eisler Academy. The teacher, William Forman, is American: link.

Hi jcoffey,
nice to hear that you like berlin. it is great city with lots of opportunities.
bill forman is a great teacher,he is very good for contemporary music.
there are seven big orchestras,so you might find a teacher even if you are not satisfied with your teacher at the academy.
there are a few i would recommend.
falk maertens-principal deutsches sinfonieorchester
lars ranch-principal rundfunksinfonieorchester berlin
felix wilde-staatskapelle berlin
konradin groth-former berlin philharmonic
tamasz velenczej-principal berlin philharmonic
gabor takövi-principal berlin philharmonic
.........
if you have questions, send me a pm

Hi,just a few additions.
Compared to the states Germany is very small, so for example, it is a 2 hour trip to Hamburg where Mathias Höfs is professor for trumpet, it is a1 hour trip to Leipzig where you have the Gewandhausorchester with Lukas Beno and Gabor Richter playing principal.
There are lots of possibilities to have great teachers in both classical or jazz.
i hope this helps
