this is one i believe the original saul of tarsus wasn't afflicted with. what he did have is a monstrous case of denial, he wasn't going to throw in with the jesus crowd, and kept denying the impulse until one day he had a vision on the road to damascus and had his conversion.
anyhow i've been trying to convince myself i'm not a cornet player and it's about built up to the same level.
you can see how this can happen. there are several flavors of cornet, and you take a look at them, and you might not like this one or that one, and figure it's probably not your thing, while there are indeed some that would be serviceable.
some people fall in love the same way and it is indeed an odd way to back into things. i think if you tend to be a little picky, it's easier to fall into this trap.
neither here nor there, just thought i was well defined as a trumpet and flugel doubler.

So, are you walking down the road to Damascus at the present time? _________________ Olde Towne Brass

I preach many Sundays, most, in fact. And I will I will reserve comment until I hear of your growing love affair. Cornet and flugel define my playing life now. I can play trumpet when a brash irreverent attitude is called for, but.......
But to be serious. Cornets allow expression that trumpets don't. And I think that when you reach an age of wanting to express yourself succinctly, you begin to look at the options.
Just remember that Paul was struck blind, not deaf, on the road to Damascus. _________________ Felton (Butch) Bohannon |
