Curiosity question (re-enabled by this thread: Mystery of the 6 Notes)
For those of you who studied with Caruso (or any of his students), where did you have the breath attacks in the 6 notes?
I'm not going to make a poll but now I've done it 3 ways
1) First half note (as in the book)
2) The whole note (as said in that thread)
3) First time on the whole note, second time on the two half notes
Anyone have any other ways? |

On the original six notes that I played (half-half-whole) Carmine instructed me to play the breath attack only on the whole note. Eventually, I was give a new six notes - very soft, three tied whole notes, each 12-count pitch begun with a breath attack.
I observed some students being taught to play the intervals with an initial breath attack as well, but I was never given that.
