Hi everyone,

I haven't posed here on TH for a while now, though I'm here reading the forums every now and then. I've been doing Caruso exercises on and off for the last 8 years, usually while doing a steady Caruso routine, my playing gets a lot better and consistent.

For the last month I've gone back to Caruso and started on a routine again conisting of 6-notes, 3rds and SLS and I'm starting on the tonguing exercises (exercise nr 22 in the MCFB). It says that one is supposed to "take a breath whenever necessary", but nothing about if this breath is supposed to be through the nose like in the earlier exercises in the book or if you can breath through the corners of your mouth.

Does anyone here has any idea?

Regards

Fred

Nose breaths and adherence to the Four Rules on this and every drill in MCFB. Insert a 4 beat rest and a nose breath whenever you require it.
