Correct, this is only the case if you don't do your Clarke Exercises. If this occurs, he performs a reenactment of Claude Gordon's first lesson with Herbert Clarke. |
That's how I do every lesson. It's a bit complicated when giving Webcam lessons, but with that 1080p high definition, you'd be surprised at how terrifying I can be. (That's an actual screen capture of me being terrifying).
Seriously, most of us CG teachers rarely make a big deal of the student's mouthpiece, unless it's clearly wrong for them. I recently changed a student from a 1B to a 1-1/4C, as the 1B just seemed to me to be too much for him (he was using it for all forms of playing, as he should for now, since he's a developing player). He's doing great on the 1-1/4C.
