I am writing to inform all my students and friends that I recently had a stroke. Fortunately, all my motor skills are intact. My challenge is language. I’m relearning words, speaking, typing, reading text and musical notation. So for now, please refrain from e-mailing, posting on Facebook or calling me. I will notify you when I will resume teaching and preforming. I love all of you! Thank You.

We all need you here, Dave, so just be sure to take care of yourself. If you can keep a positive mental attitude, I think you'll bounce right back. We're here for you Dave, and we love you too!

Very sorry to hear that, Dave. I'm sure it will all come back - scary, but I've known lots of players who came back fully after a stroke.
Take care of yourself.
