I've noticed new advertising; not the trumpet-related banners at the top, but the ads at the bottom of the page. Not very intrusive, and probably a good way to help support the free use of the site, for which we users are not charged.

But the source for those ads is a real bottom-feeder of a source. Many of the ads are from well-known scams and other dishonest sites. It's really unfortunate that TH couldn't have found an ad provider that wasn't so disreputable, as it really does reflect on TH's own integrity (or lack). Dishonesty must really be lucrative. Sad.

You got a screenshot of them? I'm just curious. I've never seen anything like you're describing.

Just keep scrolling down until the page stops. I currently see 4 of those ads.

Just paused it to see what you guys are seeing. That's pretty trashy, even for TH standards!

Todd (sysadmin) is trying them out to provide revenue to keep this place going. Most of us contribute only comments, but somebody has to pay for the servers, storage, and maintenance. It's a labor of love for Todd, but he ain't rich. This is a trial period for the adverts.

As long as I don't start getting unasked for solicitations from those ads, I'm ok with it.

One hesitates to think about what Tim asks for in solicitations... - Don (swabbie)

I agree with Mike. Ad blocker will help.

Ad blockers are great and some browsers offer them as free, easily installed, extension/add-ons.
