i am working through hering's 40 and repeating an etude multiple times to develop endurance.
it's fun, and it's working, with more work possible as things progress. it is a really nice study on the cornet.
is this an unbalanced approach and things better taken in smaller doses, i am hoping not as it feels very good to do it, and it is developing musicianship. |

And if you want an additional challenge you can transpose the etudes as you repeat them: First time in Bb, second time in C, third time in A, etc. |

+1 To Dayton's post. I have the Hering Etudes and have been going through them. As well as the trumpet stars etudes. I like to use those to help with the transposition.
