Hey folks,
One of the great recordings that first inspired me to play quintet music was the Canadian Brass version of Bach's "Little" fugue in G Minor, arranged by the late great Fred Mills. So naturally I picked up the chart for my group to play.
I found the 1st trumpet part to be a real struggle on my Bb horn. Awkward trills were the biggest problem. My set of parts came with an alternate 1st part for Eb trumpet, but I thought it might lie perfectly fine on my C trumpet. Turns out I was right. For me, the part is substantially easier on the C horn.
I thought I'd share my transposition in case anyone else has been struggling with it. Please note I'm only sharing the 1st trumpet part, which is useless unless you own the rest of the parts (I guess you could use it as an etude). So I'm not screwing the Canadian Brass out of sales here. Just trying to help other mere mortals out with the tricky 1st trumpet part.
