Depends on the trumpet. I used to play on a bach 229H25R which had a full size trumpet leadpipe with a reversed tuning slide. |
Did you need a different mouthpiece, or the standard? |

Short shank mouthpieces by Monette are made proportional to the overall length of of the specific keyed trumpet it's designed for. All Monette C mouthpieces I've measured regardless of model are uniformly the same length.
You may consider alternatives like Curry 3.1 or have a stock Bach altered for C trumpet. If you choose to have a stock Bach altered for C simply specify the size/model you want and we can take care of the rest.
I hope this is helpful. _________________ James Becker

If I were to get a curry/bach from you, how much would the alteration be? |

FWIW, I play box stock Curry mpc's on my C (both before and after the horn was tweaked out by Mr. Becker). I even discussed the idea of a modified mouthpiece and he convinced me there was no reason to go that route.
I'm not sure how you got onto this idea that you need a modified mouthpiece to play a C trumpet, but hey, it's your money. |

If you read the previous post, it is because my horn is made to take those type of mouthpiece. It has a smaller receiver, causing my mouthpieces to stick out too far, and because the are not seated correctly it wiggles around. |

Weril actually makes or made special mouthpieces for this C trumpet? _________________ LA Benge 3X Bb Trumpet

I misunderstood what you wrote. From your description, it seems like you are chasing the symptom, not the cause.
If you get a special mouthpiece for that wonky, non-standard receiver, you'll be forced to buy a special mouthpiece anytime you want to change.
I would suggest that you'd be better off having somebody competent examine the horn and look into the option of replacing the receiver with one that will accept standard mouthpieces. |

Now that we know the reason for a special shank can you please share what brand your C trumpet is? I think everyone here would like to know.
For better part of the past century the Morse #1 taper has been the industry standard for trumpet mouthpiece shanks. There was a time in the 1920's and 30's when Holton and Vega had their own specialized sized tapers specific to for their own trumpet designs. _________________ James Becker

It is a Weril Regium II Symphonic. I have their Bb horn and love it. |
