I wonder how big the market is for another piccolo trumpet album. I mean, there are only a few to chose from. |

Always a market for an exemplary recording made by a great player and a wonderful musician. Nice to have the playing be unencumbered by excess. |

Sounds great on the video. According to the notes on the CD website (via Google translate), Hofs was going for a more soulful chamber music playing style, in contrast to the more festive piccolo trumpet performances one hears on other recordings. Great stuff. _________________ Bb Yamaha Xeno 8335IIS

In my opinion, while there are countless piccolo trumpet albums, there are only a few contemporary artists worth listening to. Herr Höfs brings musicality and a monster sound to the "little beasty" in a way that no one else is does. He could record 100 piccolo albums and I'd still buy them... _________________ Joe Vandiver |

Now that my CD arrived I thought I'd write another response to the post. Trompeter, thank you so much for the heads up!
If you are reading this and able to scrape together 26 USD, you won't be sorry. If not, go sell some plasma, a kidney; heck, an old mouthpiece would likely cover it... It is seriously beautiful playing by all _________________ Joe Vandiver |
