I have been doing some experienting with guitar effects pedals. Here is a walk through of the gear I'm using. More videos will follow with sound clips.
Any questions would be welcomed.

Interesting video - thanks for posting. But do you have any clips or videos of you playing through all that?? Maybe demonstrating each effect and how it works with the others? That would be very useful. |

I'm working on videos with sound clips demonstrating each pedal and different combinations. I will do them in a series so that they are not longer that 5mins each.
I'm just waiting for some new pedals to arrive. I'm pumped to check out the Pigtronix Envelope Phaser and Disnortion.
Subscribe to my youtube channel and you won't miss any of the upcoming videos.

The dynacomp was magical for me. I put it after all my tone altering effects and it controls the signal, without it I had substantial volume change depending on what pedal was engaged. It normalizes everything. I have it on all the time. _________________ www.blairyarranton.com |

Any requests or suggestions of which pedal I should start with for the in-depth videos? _________________ www.blairyarranton.com |

Randy Brecker was experimenting with electronics in the '70's. He did an album with Larry Coryell using a "Mutron."
I was plugging into an Echoplex about the same time. (very analog) |

As an also-guitar player, seeing your pedal board made me drool a bit
Years ago I plugged the output of my Silent Brass into a guitar processor and had some fun. I'd totally forgotten about that until I saw your video. |

Any guitar player I know who has one says the test is to play with it off, but still in the loop. It still makes things sound better. I'm just very surprised it helps a trumpet. Miles, Don Ellis and etc would be jealous of what you've got here. Thanks very much for sharing your experience! Do you really find that the sequence of pedals matters as much as it's touted to? Have you experimented with higher quality cabling, and is it worth it? |

I have experimented with different order of pedals and have found that it matters a lot!!! Personal preference for sound and behaviour is a guide for me.
As for the compression, I only have it turned on a hair, so essentially I am doing what you mentioned. Still at that level it has a tremendous effect.
I use George L cables which are great quality and have great sound. I have used others, but these are the best I have used. _________________ www.blairyarranton.com |
