i contacted them last year bitching about the same WTF? only in concert or guitar keys?
SOL on that one.
as the battery goes down (and they DO drain FAST) it also starts act wonky
on the tuning and the display. it's a step above being a complete POS
but does work for the most part. _________________ ron meza (deadbeat jazz musician) & (TH 5 post ghost neighborhood watch ringleader)

Reading the manual led me to believe I could do this, but I couldn't get it to work. That's why the post.
It is an A#, I was making a bad abbreviation.
I don't know concert pitch. When I was in band 30+ years ago, I wasn't taught all that good stuff. I was just taught to read what I had to read to play the cornet / trumpet. I wasn't even taught an embouchure, just had to figure it out on my own. Anyway... I have a lot to learn.
Since Homebilly had the same problem, I guess I was misled about this being a tuner I could use.
Thanks for the link to the Chase Sandborn Tuner
Thanks guys! _________________ Callet Sima, 74' Olds SuperStar, 51' King Super 20 SilverSonic, 34' King Liberty |

I was using Cleartune on my iPhone and I thought it worked great. I switched to a Galaxy Note, and I don't have the confidence in it I had with the iPhone. It may all be in my head. I thought it would be better to have something specifically for tuning and I could use Cleartune as a backup if need be. _________________ Callet Sima, 74' Olds SuperStar, 51' King Super 20 SilverSonic, 34' King Liberty |

If you didn't trade or sell the iPhone just use it as a tuner: charge it up and away you go!
cheers

Sorry if I'm missing something here but I can't see any benefit in being told which note you're playing by the tuner. I appreciate that the tuner telling you you're playing a different note could be distracting though so I wonder if putting a bit of tape over that part of the display would help?

hi mike
i am with you there. no need for a note name but it's stupid
if you can't turn it off at least let us calibrate it to our needs.
do it right or don't do it at all.

Well that is interesting. I had not noticed that. I guess I'm just used to thinking in Bb or concert pitch. Seems like it will show A#, A, G#, G, and F# when I play my C. But that is all I can get. It doesn't really bother me.
I have a Peterson tuner app on my phone that I use when tuning my groups. I find it useful to use the Snark when I'm starting off a gig to get a reference for where things are going. It is very handy since it will hear just you while the group is playing. _________________ Music is a fire in your belly, fighting to get out.
