Does anyone know if anyone is working on such a thing? Beyond what exists and what has been done regarding his memorial services.
The more I learn about him, the more I am able to appreciate his greatness.
I'm thinking something like last stop at Carnegie hall as was done for Mr. Vacchianno by Brian Shook, is there a project like this being done for Mr. Adam?
Thanks. |

Hi,
I realize it's been a long time since your post. However, I was recently writing an independent study about Bill Adam, and found a book that is similar to what you might be looking for, with a lot of biographical info.
"The Influence of the Teaching Concepts of William Adam on Four First Generation Students" a dissertation you can get online. Its actually a series of interviews, and their transcriptions are in the back. _________________ Ksmiles |

Not only was he truly great, his greatness lives on in the playing of his students, a great many of which are top tier pros |

This was written by my colleague in grad school at OU, the late, great Mark Wilcox. If you've got access to a college library you should be able to find it in the Dissertation Abstracts database.
Kevin Kjos wrote his dissertation at IU about Mr. Adam. It looks like he's published it as a book called "Hardly Routine". http://www.reallygoodmusic.com/rgm.jsp?page=composers2&compid=130252
