It says that he has been offered the job....it doesn't say that he has taken it.....

Dufour is leaving Chicago soon on Nov. 4 for the Berlin Phil....Eugene Izotov, principal oboist, is talked about in the last paragraph...

Agree!

Alex's postings are the only place I find out this kind of information. And I was interested to read about it even if he does play flute. I read that article and the previous articles plus some additional articles on personnel changes at the CSO linked to those articles.

Thanks a zillion, Alex, for doing the work I am too lazy to do or don't think about doing.

This is the new principal flute of the Chicago Symphony.....he is currently one of the two Metropolitan Opera principals..

Now that's cool, no pun intended! Somehow Iceland doesn't come to mind but he looks outstanding! I need to get back up to Chicago again sometime.
