I'm trying to find a silver-plated mouthpiece that doesn't feel slippery. Let's hear from you. Rank silver mouthpieces, by maker, as most slippery (1) to least slippery (5). _________________ "Be yourself. Everyone else is already taken. |

Hmm, I don't notice any difference between the silverplate of different brands.
But when talking about materials, slippery to less slippery, I'd say:
-Goldplate (which is slightly too slippery/uncomfortable to me indeed)
-Silverplate
-Plastic/Lexan (Kelly, Warburton)
-Delrin (Pickettbrass, ACB, Warburton, Wedge)
-Raw brass (very bad idea...)
-Wood (Theperfectwood, with a pretty big difference between wood-sorts btw)
-Velcro
If I were you, I'd probably look into a m.piece with Delrin cup or rim.
This material has a very nice touch to the lips and is far less slippery than metal.

Edits for added information.

I do find variation in the slipperiness of silver plated mouthpieces but mostly it is between new ones and older ones which have become a little oxidised. I prefer the duller silver finishes because I get a little bit more grip. _________________ Cannonball 789RSL

True that!
Though serious silver tarnish can smell quite bad and I'm not too sure if it's okay for your health when it filters through the skin.

Thanks, guys. It sounds like if I were to leave silver, Lexan or Delrin would be the ticket. _________________ "Be yourself. Everyone else is already taken. |

We offer rhodium plate at GR. It looks like silver but is not as slippery. I would rank it between silver and Delrin, not as slippery as silver, not as sticky as Delrin.

In college I began to experience something similar. However, I found it was me, not the plating. With college practice, it went away. _________________ Steve Hollahan
