|
|
Hi all,
Does anyone know where I could purchase a copy of the Honegger Intrada for a Bb trumpet? So far all I've come up with are editions for trumpet in C. I've got some auditions coming up calling for it, but I only have a Bb trumpet.
Any help would be much appreciated! |

I don't believe I've ever seen it for Bb. I may have it input into finale (pre smart music days.....). If so, it will be ugly (no dynamics, probably no multi measure rests, etc....) but I could transpose it and zap it to ya. _________________ Joe Vandiver |

Thanks! That would definitely help. I can always write in the dynamics and such myself. |

Have you tried playing it up a whole step?

Yeah, and that's a good excercise for transposing but still a bit to tricky to rely on when it comes time for the audition. Nerves won't be helping me out much then either. |

Maybe I'll put this on MY next audition list and require Bb rotary!

I disagree. If you know the piece well enough to audition with it, it won't be tricky at all by then. By the time you have it worked up well enough for an audition, you'll know it almost by memory anyway. Reading up a whole step is not difficult compared to some of the other transpositions, and frankly, it's just something you need to know anyway, whether you like it or not.
Just give in and learn it once, and it'll come in handy over and over in the future. _________________ "Music is like candy, you throw the (w)rappers away." |

But then you'll have to relearn it if you ever want to play it on C.
Devilish instruments aren't they? |

To my knowledge, there is no version of it in Bb. |
