He is, to put it mildly, a monster.

Wait to you hear the solo he takes on the final cut of Close Your Eyes.

All mysteries can be solved by reading the vid description.

You mean, like, where you listed a guitarist as being in the group even though he wasn't on that one track, Close Your Eyes, right? Even though we knew he wasn't on the track, it would stand to reason that he is a member of the group, well, to those of us who are reasonably capable of understanding reason.

Just got another version of the mix in. It's pretty close. Needs more lead trumpet, but I think it's pretty much done.

This particular clip features the lovely and extremely talented Vanessa Perea.

Perfect . . . except for one thing . . . it needs more guitar in the mix.

Great charts, Mike!

Ha! I think you're right though.

Participating in the mixing process of this record has been eye-opening. I have a whole other skill set to work for the next project.

Thanks for listening guys. I'll post when the record is all wrapped up.

Just got the album back, and it's been mixed and mastered. I'm pretty happy with it overall, given that it was done on a shoe-string budget.

If you want to check it out further, you can access it via Bandcamp here.

http://pocketsizedswingorchestra.bandcamp.com/album/the-pocket-sized-swing-orchestra

Again, this group is 6 horns and rhythm (no piano, and minimal use of guitar). My compositional "hero" is the great Gil Evans, who also used chordal instruments very sparingly in what most people consider his compositional heyday (the late 50's and 60's with Miles and a host of other vocalists). With this group, I'm going for that sort of sound.

Maybe one day we'll even get some gigs!

Anyway, thanks for checking it out!
