|

I listen to Pandora for background music at work. But I find that the "stations" drift over time from the category I set up.
For instance if I enter "Boogie Piano" it eventually follows the derivatives of Boogie Piano and soon I am listening to fifties rock music. It also drifts into small jazz combos. All I want is solo piano playing in that style.
Other categories drift also. Beach Boys music. I am happy with all groups who perform in the beach/surf music style, but it soon drifts and mixes in other genres.
At the moment my Baroque station has added in Romantic music. I like Romantic music but I really am in the mood for Baroque.
Are there better options out there?
Any of you out there know of a better alternative. |

I use Spotify, so I can add songs I like to a playlist and just listen to those. They also have a variety of genres _________________ Bach Strad 43 | Yamaha Custom Artist Xeno C |

+1 for Spotify. Plus, you can rewind, replay, create custom lists, etc. _________________ --Matt--

Yeah, we listen to Pandora a lot and find that some stations drift more than others.
Don't know whether you've seen this page and tried these tips yet, but I've found this helpful:

I have to make these adjustments in the Pandora website. Can't do it in the Sonos Controller app, for example. _________________ Bb Yamaha Xeno 8335IIS

Do you have Amazon Prime? Not free, but gives you unlimited access to darn near any music you want. And not just music, the selection of movies & TV shows are way superior to Netflix. So there's a lot of benefits to it. _________________ "May God have mercy on my enemies, because I won't." George S. Patton Jr.

+1 Spotify. The best music service ever, IMO. I've tried other ones -- Naxos makes a high-res, streaming music service called Naxos HDLL, but if it's anything like NML, it's streaming capabilities are sketchy at best. There's also another one started by a famous rapper, it's $20/month for high-res audio. Spotify is $10/month and you honestly cannot hear the difference between the two unless you are using incredible equipment (my Sennheiser HD 600s pickup the minutest details).
Spotify also has a very large classical library. I could listen to a new album every day and never hear it all. |
