TH Friends,

Last night I watched "Jazz at the White House" and noticed (3) things...

1.) The Trumpet player on the 1st piece of the set was playing what looked like a Harrelson Trumpet.

2.) Later in the set; James Morrison played a great solo on what looked like a Schagerl Trumpet.

3.) Towards the end of the set; Scotty Barnhart played a solo on his Monette Trumpet with the wireless mic clipped on his bell turned OFF!

If you saw the performance; my question to you is this...

What were the names of the models of each of the (3) horns?

I didn't see the program, but Morrison is a Schagerl artist, with several models bearing his name, and some unique designs for his music-making — a valve/slide trombone, the "Raven" hybrid corner/trumpet vertical rotary, Eric.

Scotty plays a Monette Prana Ajna trumpet, and is soon to be the recipient of a decorated horn, which is spoken about in the recent Craft In America PBS special on custom musical instrument manufacturers.

I'm sure someone will have more complete information, including the name and horn of the first soloist.

I didn't see the show but I know that Terence Blanchard (saw his Facebook posts) was there and he also plays a Monette trumpet unless you are confusing Scotty with Terence....but both of those guys play heavy Monette trumpets.

Perhaps this will help with exactly who was there...http://jazzday.com/concert/

I was really bummed when Terence Blanchard's mic was turned off at the end....

Oops...my apologies to everyone for confusing Scotty and Terrence. I have seen several videos on Youtube from Monette where both of them played great on Monette Trumpets.

At the 1:30:00 mark, Terence is playing, and it is clear his mic is not turned on....he could barely be heard....

I don't think Till Bronner is playing YAMAHA trumpet anymore. I saw a few clips his playing more like a Bach trumpet.
