If only Chris stopped all of that lip buzzing, he might be able to play one day!

I think you're being really hard on the poor guy. Perhaps, you meant, "If only Chris stopped all of that lip buzzing, he might be able to play even better one day!

Seriously, amazing playing!

Try listening with your ears instead. It makes for a much better experience!

It's all good. It's also not "Shine", or at least it's not the Charlie Chaplin tune.

Mike, the song Chris played in the video is "Shine."
The Chaplin song is "Smile."

Jerry, did you follow the links? This is a Reinhardt student, not Adam.

More superb playing from Chris!

Where the hell did you guys find that....???

That was way back in the good old 1990s and the guy with the gray hair standing next to me is the fabulous trumpet player Warren Kime.

Warren had a Harry James tribute band and cloesd the show with "Shine". He was gracious enough to let me step out front and play a few with him.

Thanks for posting this, and Rest in Peace my friend Warren.

Thanks,
Chris LaBarbera

I liked this solo a lot, Chris. Dave posted it on Facebook and I shared it for all of my friends to see as well. I liked the "Carnival of Venice" quote with the shakes!

" Just cause my hair is curly, just cause my teeth are pearly, just because I always wears a smile, and likes to dress up in the latest styles........"

^^^^^^
"Shine"

And then we have.....

"Smile though your heart is aching, smile even though its breaking"

^^^^^
"Smile" by Chas. Chaplin

You know what two tunes I Still get mixed up??? "Ain't Misbehavin'" and "Makin" Whopee" The melodies are so close its easy (at least for me) to mix them up.

Take care everybody.....

Chris

Ha! I did that just the other day (Fortunately I caught my error before starting to sing it to my sweetheart. I'm not sure the "medley" would've been well-received)
