Hi all,
Question for you fellow mouthpiece gurus! I just recently found an old mouthpiece with a trumpet that I just bought.
It's a Bach Mount Vernon 1 1/4 C mouthpiece.
I know that some Mt Vernon mps aren't that rare etc. Is the 1 1/4C size pretty common? _________________ Philippians 1:6 |

Jackpot.
1 1/4C Mt Vernon pieces are pretty rare and they are VALUABLE in good condition - when they show up on eBay they often go for $400+ |

One in mint condition sold for 1,045.00 a week ago on eBay. Hell, Bach could only get about half that amount for the trumpet and mouthpiece! _________________ Have horn, will travel! |

Hi Guys, thanks for the kind words. I actually bought a trumpet and that mp just happened to be in the case. I honestly had no idea it would go that high at all...which is why I started it out at .99 cents.
Just little treasures pop up every now and then I guess...

It is so nice when something like that happens.
When I got my 1925 Holton trumpet I was wondering where I would find an appropriate mouthpiece since the receiver is a little different. In the case was a screw top Heim that was never mentioned in the ad. Excellence by accident. _________________ Kurt Magnuson

I sold one a couple years ago, in great condition and WITH the original box. It went for $460 on ebay.
Congrats on the find...as long as it's not chewed up it should sell for a nice $$$!
These play so different from the standard 1.25Cs today...bigger sound, beautiful dark color. I keep kicking myself for selling it but I could never ever play that diameter for some strange reason...and I was not friends with the rim.
Congrats and good luck!
