I looked at that site recently when it came up in the context of music schools in general, rather than trumpet studios.
It's one guy, using some rather weird metrics, to come to these rankings. So, essentially bears the same weight as any random opinion on TH, imo. |

You may think it's spot on but number 4 is rubbish - US students would be VERY welcome at UK colleges. Why? Well a UK or EU student doing their 1st degree (Under Grad studies) would pay £9000 per annum.
A non UK/non EU student would pay £19,150 per annum - in other words double. So you can bet that you're most welcome to enter colleges in the UK.
It's all down to the money - and being American you speak nearly the same language:-)
all the best

I was always told to go for the teacher, not the school. but performance opportunities in certain areas are definatly a factor. |

hahaha this list is hilarious. I think the school you go should have the best teacher for each student's needs... no one school is better than the others...
of course, some do have better track records.. _________________ "Put it on and it will sizzle"

Nothing more irritating the trumpet school rankings of any sort. I have rarely, if ever, heard a trumpeter at the top of their craft have an in depth discussion of that sort. |

Find the teacher and the environment that's right for you as a developing performer/educator. Does the rest even matter? |

Look at all the major orchestras and find where they went to school. Should be pretty clear. |

Trying to be discreet about it. Covers off. No but theres other places besides Eastman/Northwestern/Rice that are also great. |
