Anyone have any speculation (or inside scoop) on who Chris Martin's successor will be in Chicago? Perhaps a Tom Hooten? Ryan Anthony? Stuart Stephenson? |

I wonder if the CSO will wait to see what happens with Chris Martin's nyphil trial?
Good question, I'm assuming they would open auditions up for the next guy. |

They will wait for Chris Martin in NY Phil.
In names for auditions:
Ryan Anthony is a very good trumpet player, but I don't like him
Tom Hooten can be a good principal in Chicago
I think about Bob Sullivan, Mark Ridenour as principal.
Sincerelly I don't know names in States |

I don't see Ryan Anthony moving away from the Dallas area and the hospitals that have been treating him. He is an amazing player, and an inspirational guy though. One of my favorite people. _________________ Isaiah 40:8

I think Mark Hughes and Jim Wilt will be hired as co-principals, probably. |

I don't mean to take words out of anyone's mouth, but I recall hearing Mr. Wilt say that he was very happy with his position in the LA Phil. So, I think that co-principal hypothesis is fairly ridiculous!
My guess?
Kurt Thompson. |

That, and I'm not up to that job. I am very good at what I do, but I am no Chris Martin, Tom Hooten, Mark Inouye, Dave Bilger, Mike Sachs, etc., etc.
Also, they are not going to hire two people to replace one guy. We don't even know for sure there will be a permanent opening yet. _________________ Jim Wilt

What do you think is the likelihood of Chis making NY a permanent change? |

I doubt anything is done until it appears something needs to be done. Mr. Martin has taken a leave, not resigned. The principal position in Chicago is his to return to if that is his choice, and that is where the CSO will leave that discussion until the final step above is decided. We've already seen one superb player and the NY Phil not mix, so it would be foolish for Mr. Martin to resign his position in Chicago until he is absolutely certain that his wants the NY job. Chicago and New York are vastly different cities, despite the fact they are quite large.
I say enjoy the process, enjoy the outstanding playing, and wait with interest!
