I don't know anything about mouthpieces. But I bought one of the new Bach commercial mouthpieces recently ( a 3MV). I love it more each time I play it. I particularly like how the inner diameter feels much larger than my regular 14b4 (close to a 3c). Does anyone know of a Bach or Yamaha that has a similar inner diameter, but a slightly deeper cup so the sound isn't so bright ( for classical performance)? Thanks in advance.

Bach 2 1/2 C MV. I had one until recently, and that may fit the bill. I'd also hit up Trent Austin, or Steve Dillard. Both do custom pieces in that size, which is not an uncommon size, as you know.

I'd try an Austin Custom Brass 3ES. I use a Bach 3MV for jazz/commercial playing, and the 3ES for piccolo. Cup is slightly deeper, and has a similar inner diameter.
