Is there a trumpet forum other than Trumpet Herald and Trumpet Master?
Maybe a quiet little forum out of England or Canada or Antarctica?
A peaceful Shangri-la for trumpet players?

... where a person can say the horns they like are the best ever and receive no blow-back??
Yes, you can open up a new, blank page in Word or even Notepad and type your opinions and look at them and admire their brilliance for a long, long time and no one will ever dispute or disagree with them.
ANYTHING you express on an open, internet forum, whether it be indisputable fact or the safest of opinion, will receive detracting and disparaging comments.
If you cannot stand the heat, back away from the computer.
Mon dieu, have you compared the comments here to anything found on Twitter??? Everyone here is great, loving friends compared to that. |

The other TH people did not simply disagree with what I said.
They said that I had no right to say what I said.
They were a bunch of trolls.

That's not what I read.
You claimed that a certain brand and at a certain time was the best ever. People disputed that claim both with their opinion and with factual evidence.
What do you mean you had no right to say what you said?? Your posts still stand, don't they? Why were they trolls? For disagreeing? An internet troll, as I understand it, exists only to disagree. The people who disagreed with you I know for a fact are not in that category. Go check their profiles and read their other posts before you lash out with absurd statements.
What you really want to say is that no one has a right to disagree with you.
Sorry, things don't work that way in ANY open environment.
Do you not understand the internet??? |

I didn't see anything like that at all.
But I did see you claiming or implying that there were no positive responses (there were), that you had been called a Nazi (you weren't), and that you were being used for target practice (you weren't). You also implied that there were no responses to the initial post's subject (there were several). _________________ '75 Bach Strad 180ML/37

I just went back to review the thread in question. I wish I had read the post(s) that led to the deletion. _________________ '75 Bach Strad 180ML/37

There is, of course, a former Usenet forum:
groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/rec.music.makers.trumpet
Copy the entire link above and paste into browser.
To find others, google "trumpet discussion forum".

Thank you !!!!!!
I'll try it.
It looks like a forum of a different subject that I used to post in 15 years ago.

You should be aware that, unlike here on TH, you can't really delete your posts to Usenet if you decide you don't like the responses. _________________ '75 Bach Strad 180ML/37

Many, many years ago I would go back and correct the spelling errors in my Google use.net posts.
I had no idea that people accessing the group from other readers were gettting permanent copies of all the versions of my use.net posts.
But thank you for the reminder.

The Usenet newsgroup rec.music-makers.trumpet is, of course, still a Usenet forum, although it has little trumpet-related traffic nowadays. Google has only been (mis)representing it as a "google group" for a mere 15 years or less. _________________ '75 Bach Strad 180ML/37

15 years ago I posted dozens of times per day in a newsgroup devoted to religious discussion.
They were heated debates that went straight to the facts.
But now that newsgroup has been mostly abandoned because it was taken over by trolls and porn advertisers.

I see Google as the biggest party in killing off Usenet.
At one end, they warned: "Never let a real email get published in Usenet", and at the other end: "Must have a valid email to publish".
"Make a comment and we guarantee that you'll get spammed" is not the way to promote a service.
My guess is that Google programmers are all from the 'participant trophy' generation. |

Because it's been deleted, I don't know what the OP is referring to. I do know that generally speaking, TH is FAR more civil than most other on line forums I have seen, probably due in part to the moderators policing this site and not letting anyone get away with breaking forum rules.
