I tried adding the url from google pics as well as from my desktop, but no luck.
I copied your example and substituted in my pic's url and still no go.

Ditto Photobucket. It takes a bit of fiddling to figure it out, but it does work. The free version has a LOT of annoying pop up ads though.

I have had good luck with Flickr which lets you copy the BBCode example below.

So, set-up your Flickr account and upload your pics.
While in Flickr on the pic you want to post here, click on the curved arrow icon (bottom right area of pic) and select the tab 'BBCode'. Then copy the code.
The copied code is too long ... and looks like this: https://c1.staticflickr.com/8/7285/16388647751_e38c3f5d4e_b.jpg[/img][/url]b2 by [url=https://www.flickr.com/photos/57813268@N05/]Blaine Kelley, on Flickr
You'll need to cut it down (remove everything except) to the following:
https://c1.staticflicker.com/8/7285/16388647751_e38c3f5d4e_b.jpg statement and add [img] before it and add[/img] after it with no spaces. Just like 'etc-etc' showed in the earlier response.
Then you will see this:
