Hi
I've just finished my last genuine leather valve guards made to fit Schilkes B series horns. What do you think?

Nice! Did you make those? If so, how did you get the schilke symbol on the leather? _________________ Adams A1 Tpt.

Yes, I did. It was for my own use, of course. I have a laser engraver machine at work. _________________ Getzen Eterna 900s

It's kind of free advertising for the Schilke company... but they really deserve it. I love my B1. _________________ Getzen Eterna 900s

Awesome. You going to put a liner on the side touching the horn also? Not 100% sure, but the leather may tarnish the horn if it touches it directly (again, don't quote me on that). Either way, looks great! _________________ Adams A1 Tpt.

I also made one with a interior liner before these. But not so good looking
You are right, leather will tarnish the silver. But probably not laquer. _________________ Getzen Eterna 900s

The better ones I have used have a leather outer wrap, plastic film/membrane as a moisture barrier, then soft inner layer (e.g. felt) against the horn. _________________ "After silence, that which best expresses the inexpressible, is music" - Aldous Huxley |
