Dear Trumpeters,
Im working on my final project based on orchestra/opera auditions.
I was wondering if anyone here has a collection of former audition lists.
I have couple of orchestra lists that I have found online but none opera lists. I'm short on lists.
If anyone could help that would be greatly appreciated.

Here's one collection of lists (the trumpet section has lists from 17 American orchestral auditions, but no operas):

It looks like the Wermland Opera in Sweden is hiring, and their list is posted online at http://www.wermlandopera.com/sites/default/files/filbibliotek/orkesterutdrag_provspelning_trumpet_2_maj_2017.pdf
I also found a list from the Michigan Opera Theatre from May 2008. (I recently liquidated a bunch of past audition materials or I would have more for you). They included the specific excerpts from each part, but I only kept the list itself. It may be easiest if I just typed the list. I hope it helps, and perhaps others will have more to post to help you out!

II. Excerpts for Principal Trumpet:
Strauss - Salome
Mahler - Symphony #5, Funeral March
Strauss - Der Rosenkavalier, Excerpts A-1, A-2, and A-3
Wagner - Parsifal
Bizet - Carmen
Verdi - Rigoletto
Verdi - Il Trovatore
Tchaikovsky - Nutcracker, Divertissement a, Le Chocolat
Beethoven - Leonore Overture No. 2 and No. 3
Britten - Peter Grimes

Doesn't have to be recent at all, any list appreciated |
