Harry Glantz playing the magnificent trumpet call at the beginning of the old TV show "Death Valley Days."

Harry Glantz is considered by most musicians to be the foremost symphonic trumpeter America ever had.
Toscanini would not sign a contract to conduct unless Harry Glantz was guaranteed to be the principal trumpet player.

Glantz was William Vacchiano's role model as a young player:

"I remember when I went to school for four years I used to play a record every morning because I used to love the sound of this particular player. It was Glantz playing March of the Prophets by Meyerbeer. I used to play that record every day to get that sound in my ear."
(ITG Journal, May 1995, p. 11)

Harry Glantz
Worth noting is the small defeat of the trumpet Harry Glantz in the famous step that precedes the final narrow @ 11:35 & 12:04. Harry is acknowledged at the very end of the recording @ 15:08.
