Trying to get a head count for the Tenth Chicago Area Trumpet Hang scheduled for 1-5 PM Sunday, April 23, in Glen Ellyn.

Please let me know if you're coming. The Tribune is sending a reporter/photog but I may wave them off if the turnout is unexpectedly light this year.

Thanks!

I'll be there with my XO 1600I.

I'll also have a Bahb Civiletti TCE 3 mouthpiece for those who like impossibly small mouthpieces.

I'll be there. Not sure what to bring. '56 Committee for sure. Anybody want to try a Couesnon flugel? Chime in. Will bring a 1925 Conn 28B and a King Silversonic (both for sale).

I should be there. I have a tentative gig for Friday, Saturday and Sunday but I'm pretty it's all in the evenings.

I thought this meant you were going to tell an embarrassing story.

I'm planning to go, with a Wild Thing, Schilke P7-4, and a wonderful Buescher cornet I just got that was restored by Tony Scodwell.

Hopefully I was the only one who misinterpreted your thread title.

Totally under-appreciated trumpet IMO.

Almost nobody replying? Could it be 'nobody' has taken notice of this thread, not realizing what it was?

I'm a definite maybe. No help at all, I know; but at least the thread gets a bump

Yeah, I guess the NY Post-style thread headline was a little too terse. Clearly a result of my days long ago on the rim, which is what newspapers called the copy desk back in the Time Before Facebook.

I will be there, bringing Tom. Can bring a fairly obnoxious load of rare horns including 2 one of a kind Harrelsons, plus one stock Summit; a variety of cornets including one from before 1905, and a couple flugels. Boucoup mpcs: Reeves, Jim New, ACB, Curry, Greg Black,Callet, even my one Bach

Looking forward to seeing you again, Jim! And trying some of your horns, ESP those Scodwells. Tony's such a nice guy, and the teacher I learned the most from has played his horns for years now.
Glad to hear your own group is playing. Very tempted to ditch both groups that pay me, just so I can have fun playing what I want.

Sorry I missed last year, had a couple cuts on my chops and came down with a contagious bug at the last minute. You did NOT want to see me!

I probably won't be there after all. I'm helping move stuff out of my parents' house and won't have time.

I'm still planning on coming, and I might be bringing Roger Wood (Shofar on the TH) with me for show and tell.

He's in town with a band he plays for (Sonora Tropicana) and I'm filling in on 2nd trumpet. The thing is, we played sets at two different venues last night, we have sets at three different venues tonight (probably ending around 4 AM), and two more at two different venues Sunday night (so much for the idea of "lazy musicians"). So we might collectively wimp out.

Cheers,

John

You're just real early for the next one in 2018.

As usual, lots of fun! Thanks as always to Jim and his tolerant wife for hosting. Couldn't have done it without you!

Hey Adam,
I still miss playing the Gansch. That's a great horn you have.

Yeah, that Gansch horn was the Belle of the ball, IMHO. I almost had time to try all the stuff I wanted to ...

A pleasure to see you all there!

I was surprised nobody was interested in mpcs. Seems everybody had my idea of keep that variable constant, and try all these great horns
