|
|
Hello,
i'm looking for a swinging big band chart featuring a trombone player.
Not just a chart with a trombone solo involved, a real feature, where the trombone player plays in front of the band.
Recommendations?
Thanks!

Frank Rosolino with Kenton's band playing "Frank Speaking" is one of my favorites!!

Not crazy difficult for the band, but definitely not the easiest either. This is one of my favorite Kenton bands. Buddy Childers, Art Pepper, Maynard, Frank Rosolino and the list of monsters goes on and on. |

I have most of these and others. If you're having trouble finding them, you're welcome to inquire. |

There is a guy named Ryan Haines who has a couple of CD's out of his big band. Being a bone player, he has numerous bone features, all of which are great. And they are commercially available. |

Hello
If your bone section is up for it, you also have "It's not polite to point" Gordon Goodwin.
A nice performance here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hRkMBd-nwdo
Soli at 3:08, after the blowing.
