Jimmy Stamp always insisted he taught individual students, not a method.

Therefore it was decided to publish in Edition-Bim's "Warm-ups and Studies"
only those exercises Jimmy used with all of his students.

But I know from Malcolm McNab and Thomas Stevens,
that only some students were encouraged to do lip buzzing
and continued to utilize it in their routine but most other
students did not recall much emphasis on that technique.

Somebody knows Stamp Students which were encouraged to do lip buzzing and can produce the contact?

From my personal experience I can say that mr. Stamp put a lot of emphasis on lip as well as mouthpiece buzzing. I also still find it, since 1985, wonderful to use in my daily playing. Arto Hoornweg, Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra

As with most master teachers they prescribed different exercises for individual students. I believe Stamp was not comfortable with creating a methodology around his teaching. In saying that I have over the years used many teachers systems including Stamp with great care. I know that many people on this forum prefer one approach over another, for example buzzing versus no buzzing but in my experience if used correctly all of these methodologies are beneficial.

I studied with Stamp in the 70's. He told me he would never write a book. But there is a book. However, his method is really not in the book.

Anyway, buzzing was never stressed. Like in the book, he just did a few at the beginning always with the piano. mouthpiece was stressed.
